Simple natural colors for the base, a picture of Thumbelina and the mouse, a bit of lace, a button, and simply green embroidery thread were all the items used to make this little 5x7 mini crazy quilt piece.
We are baking in Utah - the air is smokey from all the fires and the temps are in the 90's. We have 4 days of triple digit temps coming up too. Hot stuff! We had 2 small fires on the mountain here - they seem to pop up and usually don't get too out of control. The biggest fire right now is in the central part of the state, and has burned over 340 acres. Cough choke argh...
And other states are flooding??? Wow what extremes!

You should get the rain what we got this week!
Your latest work is very beautiful, I really like these soft colors.
This is a really nice piece, Cat. I like how you've sewn around the mouse and girl.
It's sad to hear about the fires. It leave such a scar on the mountains.
The temps there are also very surprising. Naturally, being from there we always check the weather. Plus our DS is there visiting. He wasn't prepared to go from a wet sauna to a dry one!
Wonderful postcard. I find the simpler things so much more appealing to me. You do such a nice job of making simple things beautiful.
The heat and smoke sound terrible. Jenny was talking about the smoke the other day, too. Yuck! Hope after this heat wave, things get a little more normal.
Lovely piece. I worried if the fires were close to you. Stay safe.
I love the colors !! Can't wait to check out yoour etsy.
