Peppers

Here are some of the peppers I grew this summer - the 3 at the top are "Red Hot Cherry Bombs", then there are red and green jalapeno peppers, and the skinny ones are Thai peppers - very very hot. I also grew green Bell peppers and Anaheim this year. It's Chili makin' time! I sautéed up a batch of Chili starter this morning consisting of diced carrots, Anaheim peppers, and one cherry bomb. I will use it later this week for a batch of bean-less chili.
My whimpy first year garden here is done. I did have beautiful onions, and dug up the end of them yesterday. The tomatoes were weird - I think I over fertilized the soil because they all over grew and split. The peppers loved the hot temps this summer.
I haven't made any new cq collages this week, instead I have been working overtime and had too much going on. Soon... I hope... but I see no end to the OT for a while.
Happy Harvest!

Nice looking peppers...so Christmas-y!

We've put our garden to bed, sowing cover crops and mulching...but we still have a table full of pears to deal with. I've canned two batches of pear/green pepper chutney...pretty yummy!

Congratulations, your peppers look far better than mine!

Cat, I need to tell you something exciting, well VERY EXCITING! This afternoon, I decied that the summer break is over and guess what I am doing this evening! Oh, it feels so good and I can't wait to see the final result! I even tried something new: I am working with a piece of real vintage fabric that I cut from an antique hankie!

Hugs,
Anita

ha! here is a VIBE !

Just this morning I had the news running while I stitched and I looked up to see the story they were running later would be about peppers and back pain and my first thought was "oh I have to tell Cat"

And then I get here and the first thing I see....the very same peppers. HA !

They sure are beauties.
Time to order seed catalogs and dream thru the winter of Next Year's Garden.

Even your peppers are beautiful... My tomato plant looked like it was going to take over the world, it grew huge, and every tomato never turned red, for the squirrels grabbed them, I saw one, and found the tomato's all over....at least they could have finished them... but I had a coupld red pepper plants and got about 6 peppers... they were pretty, and tasted good... I want to tell you that I finally finished one wool quilt square , and posted the picture on my blog....

Hi Cat

They look great. Not something I can eat, sadly, but am enjoying looking at them nevertheless!!
