Green Tea Mat

This morning I worked on a placemat for tea. It is smaller than a normal placemat... measures 8" X 7". The minty green color came from Rit Dye. I'm going to stitch up a 2nd one and get them listed on etsy.

Other than that it's a beautiful sunny Saturday morning here!
Happy Weekend!

P.S. Here are some pictures...

Windmill at Sunset

"Windmill at Sunset"
Very simple.
Does it talk to you?

Windmills speak to me.
They say....
...be strong in the wind.
...make positive use of problems.
...stand tall.

Doodling flowers on the sewing machine

With all the rain and humidity we have had, the roses are all doing fabulous here. Blooms fill the bushes. I've had fun with the black and tan thread work this weekend... but maybe it's time for color again!

Have a good week!

Old Country Chruch thread sketch

For this picture I machine stitched (free style) all except the boards. I put them in by hand with a long running stitch. Here is the before picture:
These pieces have been 8 X 10.

Happy Father's Day.

In memory of my Dad...
Here is a picture of my him, taken 55 or so years ago when he was a young handsome sailor. He has been gone about 15 years now from cancer.

Under the Sea

If only... I didn't have to go back to work Monday... I would have so much more fun creating. It has been great having a couple extra days off after camping. Today I took a piece of turquoise dyed canvas and added sea urchins and plants in tie-dyed fabrics, and stitched away. Hey it looks like someone dropped their martini olive off the boat. I dyed the turquoise piece and the brownish piece myself but used bought tie-dyes for the rest. And, yes, being around water sparked the inspiration.

Quilted Fish

Post # 300 Bloggers are terrific Giveaway
I stopped by Pam’s blog and she has a #100 post giveaway, and I checked my post number and I’m at #300! I thought I better do a giveaway!

Just getting back from a fishing trip… so here is a colorful quilted fish. I am still experimenting with my Juki and wanted to try the circular background as opposed to regular stipple.

Leave a comment and I’ll put you in a drawing for the fish. Even if you stop by and you never comment… do so. In one week (Friday, June 19th) I will draw the winner. I will post the winner at that time, plus if you have a blog I will leave a comment to notify you.

The quilted fish piece measures 8 ½” X 11”.

Flaming Gorge 2009

We're back... We dodged rain storms the entire time... and would get little spells of sunshine.

This was camp... we had 12 people and 5 dogs.

Annie got out on the boat, the puppies stayed at camp.
I didn't take lots of pictures this year due to the rain. We ate well and had a great time.
