Saturday Meanderings

Twenty some years ago I visited Portugal and watched the sun set on the Atlantic Ocean. I remember seeing the little fishing boats come in and the women waiting for their men to return from fishing. I've been waiting...

My sweetie returned today from a week fishing in AK with his brothers. Yahoo happy day. He had a great time, caught LOTS of Halibut and is home now! Here is a picture of him (in the brown) and his brothers…

I think that is a little boat to brave the big ocean in!
And... to the girlie stuff... My holly-hocks have all been pinks - white, light pink and darker pink. Look what came up this year! Isn't it a beauty - dark dark burgundy!

Happy Weekend to all. I sure am having one!

What a gorgeous Holly-Hock. My one attempt to grow them here in Australia was totally failure and so disappointing after seeing them grow wild in English hedges.
Loved the intro to this post, the waiting for your manto come home safe- beautiful.

Your garden is looking great...I always love hollyhocks and the bees they attract whereas my husband thinks they look like weeds....
Enjoy the halibut!
