Stitching....free style

I've been stitching on a traditional crazy quilt.
My stitching is not traditional.
The photo is just a 3" preview of it, when done it should be about 10" x 12 or 14".
I just put the pieces on and stitch them down, many raw edges like I do the collages,
but with the fancy fabrics this time. Just not fancy seam treatment.
I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Trying to catch up on some of my blog reading. I still love your stuff! Don't be bored. I got electricity back last Wed...but most of my friends are still without...since Ike hit us. Each day gets better. I will be back.

Crazy quilting is my favorite. Are you going to make enough of these to put together for a bed size quilt? This is really beautiful.
How is Annie doing, I never get tired of seeing her cute face.

Cat, this is looking great - you have such a way with your stitches - like you just 'know' what goes where - I do so admire this quality you have. Can't wait for the big unveiling ... OOroo ... Bethel

Have a wonderful fall!

Hi Cat
I really like this project! Fancy fabrics can be so immediately gratifying! You pick the best colors and your stitching is just beautiful too!

you make it look so easy ... I tried sewing a simple pouch this evening and it looks a bit sad ... I'm fairly certain 1st graders would have done a much better job ... ah well. practice, I suppose. :)

did I mention that I'm seriously liking the free style stitching? I am. a lot.

This is a fine departure! Traditional CQ can seem formulaic so it is good to mix things up sometimes. Your overall use of textured stitching is great here...so intuitive, too.

Very pretty. Hope to see the whole thing soon. I love the straight stitches that are scattered. I'm thinking of doing some of that in SRE on a block. . . soon.
